LEXINGTON, Ky. - LaPorscha Wells became the first thrower in Georgia State history to qualify for the NCAA Track and Field Championships Thursday with a third-place finish in the hammer throw at the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, Ky.
Wells placed third in the hammer with a throw of 63.98m. With the top-12 marks advancing to the NCAA Finals, Wells easily made the cut to etch her name yet again in GSU's history books. Wells became the first female All-American track and field athlete at Georgia State back in March after a 21.21m toss in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
