ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s soccer junior goalkeeper Paul Tyson was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. The award was Tyson’s second of the year, making him the first player this season to win the honor for multiple weeks.
Tyson earned his fourth shutout of the season in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Appalachian State, including his third in the last four matches. The Junior from Liverpool, England, ended the night with three total saves and faced 13 total shots from the Mountaineers’ attack, the second most he’s seen this year.
