HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Tracy Dorcemont won the weight throw in Friday's opening competition at the Chipotle Marshall Invitational.
The junior from Roswell, Ga. threw 18.07m (59-03.50) to top the 30 throwers, edging out an Ohio University and a Wake Forest thrower for the top spot. Panther teammate Alysiah Whittaker took fifth among the 30 with a throw of 17.28m (56-8.50), while GSU stalwart LaPorscha Wells fouled on all her throws. Alexandria Jackson was 12th and Kelsey Gray was 15th among the 30.
In the other event Friday evening, Jordan Townsley was 10th and Morgan Laushey 12th in the 5,000m run with 19 runners.
