ATLANTA -- The inaugural football season at Georgia State Stadium will kick off on Thursday, Aug. 31 vs. Tennessee State, one of two Thursday night contests the Panthers will host as part of their 2017 schedule announced Wednesday by the Sun Belt Conference.
Georgia State’s first season under new head coach Shawn Elliott will also feature a new home as the Panthers move into Georgia State Stadium--formerly Turner Field and the home of the Atlanta Braves.
