Tennis Heads to New Orleans At No. 1 Seed

ATLANTA- The No. 58 Georgia State men’s tennis team earned the No. 1 seed and a first round bye in the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the conference announced Tuesday.

The Panthers will open tournament play in the semifinals on Saturday at 3 p.m. and will face the winner of the No. 4 UL Lafayette/No. 5 UT Arlington match on Friday. GSU swept the Ragin’ Cajuns 4-0 in its first conference match of the season at home in March, and have not faced the Mavericks this season.

Georgia State finished the season with a 17-5 record (4-0 Sun Belt) and won eight of its last nine matches.
