Georgia State's LaPorscha Wells was voted the Sun Belt Conference Field Student-Athlete of the Week by the league's coaches.
Wells, a junior from Augusta, Ga. (Josey High School) had a pair of second-place finishes in the weight throw (24 throwers) and the shot put (22 throwers) this weekend at the 12-team Arkansas State Invitational.
Her weight throw was 18.62m (61'1.25"), within nine inches of her best throw of the winter that leads the Sun Belt. Her shot put Saturday was 15.39m (50'6") to tie for the second longest toss this winter in the Sun Belt.
