LAFAYETTE, La. – Georgia State rallied from an early deficit to defeat South Alabama 8-3 at the Sun Belt Championship Wednesday. The Panthers will next play Louisiana Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ET.
South Alabama struck early with two runs on three hits in the top of the first. Kinsley Jennings was brought on in relief and escaped the jam with the bases loaded.
After Ivie Drake and Kirsten McMonigle started off the bottom half with back-to-back walks, Megan Litumbe lined a ball into right field to score Drake from second.
