NEW ORLEANS – Ashlan Rosier of Georgia State’s indoor track and field team was named the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Rosier took home first place in the long jump Saturday at the Samford Open in Birmingham, Ala., and set a new Georgia State indoor track and field record in the process. Rosier's jump of 5.80m broke Katherine Randolph's mark of 5.76m.

Rosier’s jump is the fifth-longest distance by a Sun Belt competitor this season.

Georgia State’s track and field team has this weekend off before heading back to Birmingham next week for the Jaguar Invitational.
