ATLANTA -- Dirt roads. A place where everyone is family. From the country to the big city. Georgia State’s Alonzo McGee, the Sumter, S.C., native noted for his reserved nature, is one of the most intense players on the Panthers’ defense.
This force is not something a person will see from "Zo" off of the field. Linebacker coach P.J. Volker admits that this quality is one thing that amazes him about McGee.
“He’s not going to give off a very intense demeanor, but he pays attention,” Coach Volker said. “One of the things that’s the most mind-blowing about Alonzo is he will look like he’s not paying attention and it drives me crazy.
