Pearson Homers, Drives in Five, But Panthers Fall 12-10

ATLANTA – Freshman Dalton Pearson drove in five runs with a home run and a double, but Coastal Carolina broke a 9-9 tie with three runs in the eighth inning to win 12-10 Sunday at the GSU Baseball Complex.

Georgia State (12-34, 7-11) won the Friday game, but the Chanticleers (21-18, 5-7) came back to win the series.

Pearson, the right fielder from John's Creek High School, had the best game of his rookie season. He smashed a three-run homer, the first of his career, in the second inning, and then ripped a double down the left field line to drive in two more runs in the third.
