ATLANTA – For a third-straight year and once again in dominating fashion, the Panthers have won the annual Georgia State-Georgia Southern Rivalry Series. Georgia State earned a 16.5-5.5 win and improved to 3-0 all-time in the series.
The competition includes the 15 sports in which the two schools compete against each other, plus academics and community service components. At the end of each school year, the institution with the most points will be crowned the champion and receive the series trophy at the following year’s football game.
Among the highlights during the 2017-18 was football’s come-from-behind 21-17 win in Statesboro last November as Penny Hart caught a touchdown pass from Conner Manning with 2:31 to play.
