Panthers Unable to Overcome Early Deficit in Conway

CONWAY, S.C. – Georgia State’s women’s basketball team lost 64-49 Saturday to Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C. The Panthers fall to 4-13 and 0-6 in the Sun Belt.

After falling behind early, Georgia State outscored Coastal Carolina in the second half but was unable to overcome the deficit as the Chanticleers held off the Panthers.

Georgia State struggled to get shots to fall in the first half, going just 3-for-26 from the field. The Panthers held Coastal Carolina to just 36% shooting, but the Chanticleers outrebounded GSU 30-17 and took a 31-10 lead into halftime.

Georgia State came out hot out of halftime and went on a 9-3 run, but CCU stopped the rally and kept its lead at double-digits heading into the final period.
