ATLANTA -- No. 48 Georgia State Women’s Tennis claimed the top seed and with that a first round bye for the Sun Belt Conference Championships in New Orleans, the league announced today.
Georgia State will be in action Friday at 8 a.m. and will play the winner of the UL Monroe/Appalachian State quarter final match. The Panthers swept the Mountaineers 7-0 at a neutral site match in March and the match against UL Monroe was cancelled due to weather earlier this season.
The Panthers (12-5) closed the season on a five match winning streak that includes a perfect 4-0 record in conference competition.
