Panthers Stun Florida for First SEC Win Since 2005

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Georgia State women's soccer made history Sunday night with a 2-1 victory over Florida at Donald R. Dizney Stadium, earning the program's first win over an SEC opponent since 2005.

The Panthers rallied from a goal down with two scores in a four-minute span during the second half to stun the Gators on their home field.

Florida struck first in the 52nd minute when Madison Jones buried a shot from the top of the box to give the Gators a 1-0 lead. But Georgia State responded quickly. In the 61st minute, freshman defender Lily Sawyer rose highest on a cross and headed home a service from Carys Fraser, with Sunniyah Tucker also credited with an assist, to bring the match level at 1-1.
