ATLANTA--With a goal of returning to the NCAA tournament in 2017, Georgia State was picked to finish third in the annual Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll that was announced on Wednesday morning. Senior Jeremy Hollowell earned All-Sun Belt Preseason Second Team honors a year after earning third team recognition.
Voting for the Preseason Sun Belt All-Conference Team and Poll was conducted by the league’s 12 head coaches.
Georgia State went 16-14 last year, including a 7-2 non-conference mark which was the third-best in school history, however the Panthers were eliminated in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament and missed out on a third-straight postseason appearance.
