Columbia, S.C. - The Panthers stayed within striking distance of the Gamecocks in the first half, but were unable to make their mark on the scoreboard in a 3-0 loss at the University of South Carolina on Sunday.
How it Happened
Despite the Gamecocks striking first, Georgia State goalkeeper Ariana Anderson kept the Panthers within the game with seven first half saves. At the halftime break, South Carolina held a narrow 1-0 lead.
Another seven saves from Anderson limited the Gamecocks to two second half scores, but the Panthers were unable to get started in their offensive zone.
