Panthers Fall to South Alabama on Late Field Goal

MOBILE, Ala. – Gavin Patterson’s 30-yard field goal with six seconds to play gave South Alabama a 13-10 win over Georgia State on Saturday at Ladd-Pebbles Stadium.

Making his second consecutive start for the injured Conner Manning, redshirt-freshman Aaron Winchester finished 11-of-18 for 113 yards and rushed 21 times for 64 yards.

Georgia State dropped to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the Sun Belt, while South Alabama improved to 4-4 and 1-4 in the league.

Glenn Smith led all Georgia State receivers with three catches for 55 yards.
