Panthers Fall in Conference Opener

MOBILE, Ala. - Georgia State's women's basketball team had a tough night shooting in Mobile Friday, opening conference play with an 88-52 loss to South Alabama.

The loss broke a streak of four straight wins in conference-openers. Georgia State got off to a cold start shooting in the first quarter and struggled to get going offensively while South Alabama held the rebounding advantage and was effective scoring in the paint.

The Panthers played better in the second half, shooting 45.5% in the fourth quarter, but South Alabama kept hammering the paint and scoring inside to stay in front.
