TROY, Ala. - Georgia State's women's basketball team sank 12 3-pointers Sunday, setting a new GSU record in a 90-86 loss at Troy.
Georgia State fell behind early to Troy as the Trojans opened the game with three 3-pointers in a row. Georgia State, however, rallied after a timeout by head coach Sharon Baldwin and went on an impressive 21-3 run to led Troy 23-22 at the end of the first quarter. The Panthers led by as many as nine in the first half but found themselves playing catch-up for the remainder of the contest.
GSU pulled within one late in the fourth, but the Trojans held on to win as GSU dropped to 4-9 on the season and 0-2 in the Sun Belt.
