BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Georgia State sophomore Nuria Ramirez raced home a new Sun Belt Champion on Tuesday in the 800m run at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Palma, Spain native made it a third conference champion so far with a gutsy performance. She won by .02 in fighting to the finish in 2:12.83, the fifth-fastest indoor time in GSU school history.
Ramirez follows the success of fellow Panther teammates LaPorscha Wells (weight throw) and Ravin Gilbert (60m), who also have won championships in the past 24 hours.
The Sun Belt Championships continue into the early evening as GSU has scored 52 points as of 4 p.
