Morris' Game-Winner Lifts Georgia State Past Mercer in Overtime Thriller

ATLANTA – Dylan Morris’ goal in the seventh minute of overtime kept Georgia State men’s soccer undefeated through its first nine matches as the Panthers knocked off in-state rival Mercer 2-1 Saturday night at the GSU Soccer Complex.

The victory extended Georgia State’s win-streak over the Bears to three games and moved the Panthers to 6-0-3 overall, continuing the team’s school record of most consecutive matches without a loss to begin a season.

Neither side was able to find the back of the net in the first half, as the opening 45 minutes of Saturday’s contest presented a defensive battle with each team fighting to create any type of scoring chance it could get.
