ATLANTA - Women's basketball player Francesca Minali is the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week, powered by the U.S. Marines, after a dominating performance on the boards to lead the Panthers past rival Georgia Southern Saturday.
The 6-2 post player from Stezzano, Italy, pulled down 18 rebounds in Georgia State's 71-56 victory.
Minali also contributed seven points, one assist and one blocked shot in just 29 minutes to helped guide GSU to its first Sun Belt win of the season.
Her rebounding performance, which included six offensive rebounds, ranks in the top 15 in Georgia State history.
