HAMPTON, Ga. – Georgia State's Lotte Meyberg won the 2019 Sun Belt Cross Country Championship Saturday morning at Nash Farm Battlefield Park.
The junior from Buettelborn, Germany ran the championship 5K in 17.11.7, 15 seconds better than the second-place finisher to give Georgia State its third individual Sun Belt champion since 2012.
Meyberg took first place early in the race and maintained a large lead for the second half of the course.
"I am very happy for Lotte and her well-deserved victory. She is the third Sun Belt champion that I have had the pleasure to coach.
