Men's Tennis Successfully Opens Tournament Slate

ATHENS, Ga.- The Georgia State men’s tennis team successfully opened its tournament schedule at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships Friday. The Panthers went 8-3 in singles play and 4-0 in doubles play.

In the Division I singles bracket, No. 16 Andrei Andrukhou advanced to the Round of 16 with a victory over Remi Chancerel of Florida Atlantic. Sophomore Quentin Coulaud fell in the Round of 32 6-2, 6-1 to Robert Loeb of Georgia.

Jack MacFarlane defeated student-athletes from Radford and Florida Atlantic to advance to the Round of 16 in the Division II singles bracket, while Giles Hussey fell 6-1, 6-4 to Andy Martinez of Georgia.
