BOONE, N.C.-Appalachian State used a late 8-0 run to earn an 80-71 win over Georgia State on Friday night at the Holmes Convocation Center.
Redshirt-junior Eliel Nsoseme just missed a double-double with a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds for Georgia State (8-3, 2-2 Sun Belt) but it wasn't enough to over come 16 turnovers and just 4-of-14 shooting from 3-point range.
Appalachian State (11-5, 5-2 Sun Belt) moved into first place all by themselves in the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference standings as Justin Forrest led all scorers with 23 points.
