With the start of the 2021 football season fast approaching, it's time to get to know Georgia State's class of newcomers that will join a GSU program that returns 22 starters from last year's bowl-winning squad.
Today's featured freshman is defensive lineman Omarion Hammond.
Hammond comes to Atlanta from AC Flora High School in Columbia, S.C. This outstanding pass rusher collected eight sacks in 2020 to lead AC Flora to the 4A state title in South Carolina.
Hammond is one of four defensive linemen in the 2021 signing class, along with Tylon Dunlap, Fuches "Deuce" Lewis II and Jamarion Ellis.
