ATLANTA – Georgia State's Max Herrmann won the Sun Belt Conference Championship last week following a one-hole, three-man playoff at The Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Fla.
Herrmann shot 73-70-67, saving his best round for last. On the first playoff hole, he dropped a birdie to top teammate JJ Grey and Troy’s Calum Masters, while leading Georgia State to the No. 1 seed for the match play championship.
In match play, Herrmann defeated South Alabama’s Brooks Rabren 4&2 in the semifinals. In the afternoon, with Georgia State trailing 2-1, Herrmann defeated Troy’s Cam Norman to tie the match and give the Panthers a chance for another conference championship.
