ITA Southeast Regionals Day 1 Recap

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Georgia State men's tennis had a successful first day in the ITA Southeast Regionals as its five individuals competing in the qualifying singles draw combined to go 7-3 overall, including Andrei Duarte who punched his ticket to Friday's main draw with a gritty win in the third round of the qualifying bracket.

Four of the five Panthers opened Thursday with straight-set victories. Patrick Lazo took care of Charley Castaing of North Florida 6-4, 6-2, Diego Padilha defeated Bryn Nahrung of Florida State 6-2, 6-2, Kevin Huynh knocked off North Florida's Nilo Duarte 6-4, 6-4, and Duarte defeated Hunter Robbins of FAU 6-1, 6-3.
