ATLANTA -- Freshman men's soccer defender Alex Henderson scored his first career goal on Friday night at a crucial time earn GSU Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Monday.
Down to possibly the final three minutes of the season, Henderson scored his first collegiate goal in the 87th minute of the Sun Belt Conference Championship semifinals against Central Arkansas. The goal tied the game 1-1 and after 20 more minutes of scoreless play, the Panthers topped the Bears 4-2 on penalty kicks.
Henderson, from Ipswich, England, was one of the top freshmen in the conference this season, finished the year with a goal and two assists for four total points.
