MACON, Ga. -- Freshman Brooke Hart scored her first collegiate goal in style, giving Georgia State a 2-1 victory in overtime at Mercer to open the 2020 season.
Hart, a freshman from Marietta, Ga., settled the ball off a GSU corner kick and snuck her shot past the Mercer keeper just three minutes into overtime.
The Panthers took the lead in the 14th minute off a long blast from senior Liz Fogarty found the back of the net just above the keeper's reach. Mercer evened the score with a goal in the 70th minute.
