Good Effort, Tough Showing in Loss to 1st Place ASU

JONESBORO, ARK. – Georgia State fell victim to Arkansas State’s 19th straight home win and eighth-straight overall win 75-54 Thursday night at the ASU Convocation Center.

Georgia State, already with five players and three starters not able to travel, got into foul trouble with its nine players who dressed and succumbed to a 40-21 second half by the hosts.

Visiting GSU (8-10, 3-6) jumped out on Arkansas State 7-2 after three minutes before ASU rallied to break a 9-9 tie and take a 15-11 first quarter lead. GSU closed to 15-14 in the second quarter and trailed 19-16 at 6:00.
