STATESBORO, GA --The Georgia State men's basketball team got a 29-point showing from the bench, but fell 90-67 to the Georgia Southern Eagles on the road Thursday.
The Panthers had two players score in double figures, led by Jelani Hamilton, who had 19 points and six rebounds. Ayouba Berthe tacked on 16 points off the bench and Jakai Newton added nine points.
Hamilton pulled down two offensive rebounds to lead the Georgia State offense which grabbed 11 boards and turned them into eight second chance points.
The Georgia State defense held Georgia Southern shooters to only 36.
