ATLANTA- Georgia State volleyball’s Celeste Friesen has been named Sub Belt Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday. Friesen totaled 53 digs in eight sets, to help the Panthers to a 1-1 open to conference play.
Celeste filled up the score sheet with 29 digs, eight assists, and two aces in Georgia State’s win over UL Monroe Friday night. Friesen added 24 digs in only three sets of work on Saturday night. The sophomore from Marietta has been the backbone of the GSU defense, racking up 277 digs and seeing action in all but three sets on the season.
