Former Goalkeeper Cochran Has Huge Pro Match

Oklahoma City Energy Goalkeeper CJ Cochran made back-to-back penalty kick saves, then went to the offense and scored the game-winning penalty kick Wednesday night in a match in Clinton, Miss. His efforts propel OKC Energy FC into the third round of the 103rd annual U.S. Open Cup play on June 1 vs. the NASL’s Rayo FC.

Cochran (Georgia State ’14) is playing goal with the OKC Energy in the United Soccer League (USL), a 29-member professional league in the U.S. and Canada. That regular season runs from early March to late September. The 6-foot-4 keeper moved up to the USL after playing 2015 with the Atlanta Silverbacks.
