NEW ORLEANS -- Georgia State head coach Shawn Elliott's favorite slogan is "Start fast, finish strong," and this season, that phrase has more meaning than ever for his football program.
"We're ready to take that next step, and we talk about it," Elliott said as he addressed the media at the annual Sun Belt Conference Media Day.
"When we address the team and we say, Start Fast, Finish Strong, we're talking about finishing for a championship this year. We're talking about preparing each and every week to really take the next step to put Georgia State University at the top of this conference.
