With one of college football's most storied programs visiting, even a rainy night at Georgia State Stadium couldn't dampen the atmosphere as the Panthers knocked off Army, 28-21, in one of the favorite memories of the 2019 season.
Dan Ellington threw the go-ahead, 8-yard touchdown pass to tight end Aubry Payne with 7:41 to play, and the Georgia State defense made a huge fourth-down stop to seal Georgia State's third straight victory and fifth win of the season. After Payne's catch and Roger Carter's 2-point conversion catch put GSU ahead by seven, Army drove inside the GSU 30-yard line with under two minutes to play.
