ATLANTA-- Georgia State wide receiver Robert Davis was selected Saturday by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2017 National Football League Draft.
Davis, the No. 205 overall selection, becomes the third player to be drafted out of Georgia State, which has played football for just seven seaons. He joins defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi (6th round (189) by Oakland Raiders, 2012) and offensive linemen Ulrick John (7th round (232) by Indianapolis Colts, 2014).
Davis hopes to become the fifth GSU Panther to play in the NFL, joining Bilukidi, John (now with Arizona Cardinals), wide receiver Albert Wilson (fourth-year wide receiver with Kansas City Chiefs) and Wil Lutz (second-year kicker with New Orleans Saints).
