ATLANTA- Georgia State volleyball and beach volleyball squads continue to earn recognition for their accomplishments in the classroom. Both teams received the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award and spots on the AVCA Academic Honor Roll, announced on Monday afternoon.
The award, launched in 1992-1993 academic year, recognizes teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.3. Even with a chaotic and different ending to the school year, both of our teams performed well above this requirement. The beach volleyball team finished the academic year with a department best 3.96 average GPA.
