Champions: Panthers Top South Alabama 4-2 For Title

New Orleans, LA. --Georgia State earned the 2016 Sun Belt Championship with a 4-2 victory over South Alabama Sunday at City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center. GSU, ranked No. 46 by the ITA and the No. 1 seed, was pitted in a re-match with No. 53 South Alabama.

With a point already secured in doubles, plus singles wins by Niri Rasoloamalala and Kristin Rehse, freshman Daniela Ramirez stepped up to win the match point at the No. 4 spot for the 2016 Sun Belt Championship Sunday afternoon.

At only 17, Ramirez rallied to beat Maria Papke, the senior from South Alabama 7-5, 3-6, 7-5.
