LEXINGTON, Ky. - Jansen Button and Sara Olivova of Georgia State's beach volleyball team were named to the 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention list, the AVCA announced Wednesday afternoon.
Button and Olivova were the No. 1 pair for Georgia State most of the season. The duo went 25-11 this season and won duals against No. 1 Pepperdine, No. 10 FIU. The pair helped GSU pick up the No. 2 seed at the conference tournament with wins against FAU (twice), LSU, South Carolina and UAB.
Olivova and Button were named to the inaugural Coastal Collegiate Sports Association's all-conference team last week before the Panthers earned their second consecutive trip to the national championships in Gulf Shores.
