ATLANTA- The Georgia State men’s soccer team swept the Sun Belt Player of the Week awards, the league office announced Tuesday. Sophomore Hannes Burmeister won the Offensive Player of the Week award, his second in a row, while junior Yannic Horn won the Defensive Player of the Week award.
Burmeister scored his second hat trick in as many games to secure the win over Lipscomb on Friday night. Burmeister now has six goals this season, setting a new personal season high for goals after just four games.
With 13 shots so far this season, Burmeister has set his career high for shots in a season.
