BOONE, N.C. – Georgia State used 26 runs on 22 hits to take both games of a doubleheader at Appalachian State Saturday in Boone, N.C. The Panthers swept the three-game series to improve to 23-19 overall and 8-9 in the Sun Belt.
Game 1: GSU 17, APP 5
Game 1 of the doubleheader, Game 2 of the series, had a little bit of everything. The Panthers jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but App State managed to score one in the bottom of the fifth and two in the sixth to avoid the run-rule.
GSU exploded for a six-run seventh inning to lock up the victory.
