ATLANTA -- With Opening Day just three weeks away, the Georgia State baseball team opened team practice Friday.
The Panthers open the 2016 season on Friday, Feb. 19, hosting Western Michigan at 4 p.m. in the first game of the Atlanta Challenge, which also includes VCU and Purdue.
Head coach Greg Frady enters his 10th season at the helm as his Panthers look to build on last year's 30-win campaign and fifth-place finish in the Sun Belt Conference.
The Panthers return strength up the middle with senior catcher Joey Roach, a two-time All-Sun Belt selection and and an Academic All-American, sophomore shortstop Justin Jones, a Freshman All-American in 2015, and junior center fielder and All-Sun Belt performer Ryan Blanton.
