TROY, Ala. -- Julia Allen threw a career-high 6.0 innings while allowing just two runs against No. 2-seed Texas State Wednesday in the second round of the Sun Belt Championship, but the Bobcats took the game 2-0.
Allen was impressive in just her fourth career start. The sophomore retired the first nine batters she faced, not allowing a hit until the fourth inning against one of the top offenses in the conference.
Allen struck out two batters and allowed just five hits against a Bobcat squad that boasts a .286 team batting average on the season.
