Deasia Merrill is the Center Parc Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 67 percent from the field to lead Georgia State to a pair of victories, including a win over Sun Belt co-leader James Madison.
In the win over JMU, Merrill went 8-for-12 from the field and scored 17 points in just 22 minutes. She scored 15 points in the second half as GSU outscored the Dukes 42-30 en route to the 72-54 victory.
Merrill opened the week with career highs of 23 points (10-for-15FG) and 13 rebounds in the 64-56 victory over App State.
