ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s and women’s basketball teams will begin the 18-game Sun Belt Conference play on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) at Georgia Southern as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
This year’s Sun Belt Conference basketball schedule has some differences from last year’s all-doubleheader slate. First, new member Coastal Carolina joins to make it a 12-team league. Second, the format drops from 20 games to 18 conference games. Third, the men will play most games on a Saturday-Monday rotation while the women will play most games on a Thursday-Saturday rotation. This leaves the possibility for Saturday doubleheaders if schools so choose.
