Women’s golf sits in eighth at Sun Belt Championship

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. Ansley Bowman carded a 74, and the Georgia Southern women's golf team sits in eighth place after the first round of the Sun Belt Championship Monday at The Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals.

Texas State (-3) leads the field, followed by Troy (-1), and Little Rock (+3) is third. The Eagles are two shots back of Coastal Carolina in seventh and 10 behind sixth-place Appalachian State.

Bowman (+2) is tied for 14th, and Iben Hvass (+4) is tied for 26th after notching a 76.
