STATESBORO - Following the first 20-win season in 20 years for the program, Georgia Southern women's basketball has been selected to participate in the 13th Women's Basketball Invitational, which will take place March 17-19 in Lexington, Kentucky.
The tournament pits eight teams in three days of competition, to be held at the Clive M. Beck Center in Lexington, Kentucky. The Eagles' first-round opponent will be Northern Illinois (16-14) and the game will the the 7:30 p.m. contest on March 17.
This marks only the fourth time that Georgia Southern women's basketball will be a part of a national postseason event.
