NEW ORLEANS – The Georgia Southern volleyball team has been picked third in the East Division in the Sun Belt's Preseason Poll, conducted by the league's 12 head coaches.
Defending conference champion Coastal Carolina was picked to win the East, garnering all 12 first-place votes, and South Alabama was picked second, eight points ahead of the Eagles. Arkansas State logged 11 first-place votes and was picked to win the West with Texas State coming in second with one first-place selection.
Georgia Southern tied for second in the East Division in 2016, and the Eagles return four of their seven starters and 14 letterwinners to the 2017 team.
