BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Just a little over a week before the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the Georgia Southern track and field team saw success at the same venue in Birmingham, Alabama at the two-day Samford Open. Topping the charts, senior Ashleigh Rasheed placed second in the triple jump with her career-best 12.37m jump, which ranks fourth in the conference.
"This was a good meet for us; it prepared us for the indoor conference championship coming up next week," head coach Kelly Carter said. "We had a lot of good performances, and I'm very excited about what's next to come.
